Albanian Order of Skanderbeg Grand Officer Set in the Original Case. Made by Gardino, Rome. Comprising: 1.) Grand Officer badge, gilt with enamels, measuring 53 x 74-mm, weighing 2.08 ounces. 4-inch wide sash of moire red silk with three black stripes. Maker marked on the back. 2.) Breast Star, silver with enamels, measuring 86-mm and weighing 2.36 ounces. Large pin for mounting. Maker marked on the back. In the original red fitted case of issue. Established in 1925 as an order of merit of the Albanian Republic and awarded for distinguished services rendered to the Crown and achievement in every field of the society. From the estate of Božidar Puric (1891-1977), a Serbian and Yugoslav politician and diplomat. Between 1928 and 1934 he was chargé d' affaires in the Embassy of the Kingdom of Yugoslavia in the United States and its ambassador in France in 1935. During World War II, Puric was the prime minister of the Yugoslav government-in-exile between August 10, 1943 and July 8, 1944.


Condition: Very good. With some light tarnish to each; case with modest wear.
