Description
Cased W.J. Jeffrey Double Rifle in .500 Nitro Express.Serial no. 41507 [gold inlaid], 26-inch barrels, .500 NE caliber. Blued finish with case-hardening frame. Both sides of lockplate engraved in gold W.J. JEFFREY & CO. Top of barrels near folding sights marked W.J. JEFFREY & CO. LONDON / CAL. 500 NITRO 570 GR. BULLET. Marcus Hunt engraved, According to Griffin & Howe hangtag; Boxlock with 3rd bite, Shadow cheekpiece. Calibrated for 570 grain bullet. Trap color hardened grip cap, Silver escutcheon present. Rear sight mounted on 1/4 rib. Proofed at 3200 BAR, Includes maker's canvas & leather case. Please note: Underneath barrels stamped; NP [proofs], .500" and 3250/BAR. Purchased from Griffin & Howe in 2013; gun was manufactured in 2000. Invoice from Griffin & Howe states; Purdey Leather recoil pad in the English style, and the color brown.
Condition: Excellent, retains most original finish with minor handling and fine marks; few bumps and mars to wood. Case with related accessories.
