Description
Apollo 12 Flown Embroidered American Flag Directly from the Personal Collection of Mission Lunar Module Pilot Alan Bean, with Handwritten LOA. A 3.5" x 2.25" embroidered U.S. flag patch with a gold border around. This was flown on mankind's second lunar landing mission, November 14-24, 1969, along with the crew of Charles Conrad, Alan Bean, and Richard Gordon. Excellent.Included in this lot is a handwritten and signed Letter of Authenticity on his personal letterhead. It reads, in full:
"I hereby certify that the accompanying small embroidered American Flag, measuring approximately 2¼" x 3½", traveled to the Moon with me in our Command Module, 'Yankee Clipper', during the Apollo 12 Mission in November 1969.
"It has been in my personal collection since that time.
"Alan Bean Apollo 12 LMP"
