Description
Boxed Smith & Wesson Military and Police (M&P) Double Action Revolver with Badge from Fish & Game Warden.Serial no. S814627 [base of barrel and butt], .38 caliber, 5-inch barrel with fixed front sight and frame notch rear sight. Blued finish. Case-hardened hammer and trigger. Smith & Wesson address and patent dates to top of barrel. Checkered walnut grip panels with S&W inlaid medallions. Contained in factory pasteboard box with cleaning rod, pre-war box of Hoppe's gun cleaning patches, WWII era S.C. Johnson oil can and handwritten bill of sale dated April 22, 1947. Brauer Bros leather holster with snap closure.
Sold along with California Fish and Game badge. Die-cut six-point star with ball finials. Top riband with blue enamel legend reading: DEPUTY. Center of badge reads: DEPARTMENT OF NATURAL RESOURCES STATE OF CALIFORNIA DIVISION OF FISH & GAME 212. Center with gold California state seal. Reverse unmarked and with T-bar and safety catch.
Condition: Very good. Retaining approximately 95-97% original finish with thinning at muzzle and light handling wear. Cylinder with light drag line. Hammer and trigger retain vivid case colors. Grips fine with minor soiling and flattening to checks. Bright, clean bore. Action excellent. Box fine with some minor staining to top and a scuffed area on bottom. Badge showing fine with age wear and patina.
