U.S. Colt Army Model 1917 Double Action Revolver with Extra Grips.

Serial no. 302174 [frame and crane], .45 caliber, 5 1/2-inch barrel with fixed front sight and frame notch rear sight. Blued finish. Colt address and patent date to top of barrel. Base of barrel marked: "UNITED STATES PROPERTY". Rampant Colt logo and S20 to left side of frame. Checkered walnut grip panels with inlaid Colt medallions. Butt stamped: U.S. / ARMY / MODEL / 1917 / NO. / 150850. Lanyard ring. Sold along with a pair of checkered plastic grip panels. Adopted in 1917 to help supplement the Colt M1911 semi-automatic pistol, as the U.S. entered World War I and faced a handgun shortage.

Condition: Very good. Overall showing light handling wear and a few fine patches of pitting. Noticeable scuffs, dings and bruising present to wood. Action good. Bright bore.
