Double Battle Inscribed Smith & Wesson Model 1 Presentation Single Action Revolver.

Serial no. 27404 [butt], .22 caliber, 3 1/4-inch ribbed octagonal barrel with fixed front and rear sights. Silver-plated brass frame. Case-hardened hammer and spur trigger. Right side of frame inscribed: BATTLE OF / BATON ROUGE / AUG. 5, 1862, left side inscribed: SIEGE OF VICKSBURG / JULY 1862. Backstrap engraved: CORPL M.A. MUNROE / CO. J 30TH REGT / MASS VOLS. Smooth hardwood grip panels.

Condition: Very good. Retaining approximately 80% finish with thinning to cylinder, handling wear and very fine patches of pitting. Scuffs and dings present to wood, noticeable gouges to base of left panel. Action good. Lightly pitted bore.
