Description
Apollo 12 Lunar Module Flown Mirror Directly from the Personal Collection of Mission Lunar Module Pilot Alan Bean, Certified and Signed. A 4.75" x 3.75" mirror with rounded corners. On the back is a swivel mounting post. This is Part Number of "LDW360- 52035-5" and Serial Number "S/N 0013". Bean has written across the back in black felt tip: "Flown to the Moon/ aboard our Lunar/ Module/ Intrepid/ November 19 & 20, 1969/ Alan Bean/ Apollo 12 LMP". Originally certified by Bean as command module flown, the Apollo 12 Stowage List showed that this mirror was stowed in the Right Hand Side Storage Compartment of the Lunar Module, both at Earth Launch and Lunar Launch (pages 49 and 75). Captain Bean examined this evidence and concluded that this did indeed fly to the moon's surface in the Lunar Module Intrepid at which point he modified the certification on the back to read as shown above.
