Description

Colt Single Action Army Revolver.

Serial no. 204244 [frame, triggerguard and butt], 45 COLT caliber, 5 1/2-inch barrel with fixed front sight and frame notch rear sight. Nickel-plated finish. Gold wash hammer and trigger. Top of barrel marked: COLT'S PT. F.A. MFG. CO. HARTFORD CT. U.S.A. Two-line, three-date patent to left side of frame. Stag grip panels [later replacements]. Manufactured in 1901. The SAA was adopted by the U.S. Army as its official service revolver in 1873 and was the standard sidearm for military personnel throughout the late 19th and early 20th centuries.

Condition: Very good as refinished, with active plating loss near muzzle and some peppering and bubbling near cylinder and frame. Some loss to backstrap as well. Tracking line to cylinder. Grips fine. Action good. Bore ok, should clean. Tom Mixon Collection
