Remington New Model Army Single Action Revolver.

Serial no. 15635 [base of barrel and frame under grip], .44 caliber, 8-inch octagonal barrel with fixed front sight and frame notch rear sight. Blued and case-hardened finish. Remington patent date and address to top of barrel. Brass triggerguard. Smooth hardwood grip panels. The Remington New Model Army Revolver, introduced in 1863, was one of the most important and widely used handguns of the American Civil War. Manufactured by E. Remington & Sons of Ilion, New York, it became the primary competitor to Colt's Model 1860 Army.

Condition: Good. Finish primarily a smooth grey patina with honest handling wear, age and patches of pitting. Heavy scuffs, dings and bruising present to wood. Action is tight, but functions. Moderately pitted bore. From Joe Bowman "The Straight Shooter Collection".
