Description
Joe Bowman "The Straight Shooter" Sculpture by Edd Hayes.Measuring 23 1/2-inches in overall height. Sculpture is of internationally famous 'Straight Shooter' Joe Bowman. Features the marksman with one revolver drawn in left hand, one revolver holstered and lever action rifle in the right hand. Dressed in Joe Bowman style cowboy / showman outfit with cowboy hat, cowboy boots and spurs to go along. Sculpture is signed by Joe Bowman on the rock on which he is standing. Back of the rock is also signed by the artist Edd Hayes and numbered 10/25. Front of the rock features a Texas Ranger badge reading: FORMER TEXAS RANGERS / CAPTAIN / JOE BOWMAN / FOUNDATION. Sculpture is mounted to a wooden 360-degree swivel base. Plaque on front marked: "JOE BOWMAN" / THE STRAIGHT SHOOTER / BY EDD HAYES.
?Edd Hayes created this bronze sculpture The Straight Shooter to honor his longtime friend Joe Bowman, a renowned trick shooter and World War II veteran. The sculpture is a detailed and authentic portrait of Bowman, capturing his essence as a legendary figure in Western culture. Notably, Bowman personally signed the piece before it was cast, adding a unique touch to the artwork. Hayes is a renowned American sculptor celebrated for his monumental bronze and stainless steel works that capture the essence of Western heritage, public service, and American culture. Born in 1945 in Cisco, Texas, Hayes transitioned from careers as a rodeo bulldogger, carpenter, and oilfield welder to become a self-taught sculptor in the late 1970s.
