Buzz Aldrin Signed Color Photo, Originally from the Personal Collection of Dr. Shirley Thomas. A 10" x 8" color glossy photo showing Aldrin with Thomas and one other at an awards banquet. He has signed: "To Shirley/ Thanks so much for/ all you've done for/ Aerospace History and Cal Tech/ Buzz Aldrin/ Apollo XI &/ MIT". Aldrin was a board member of the Aerospace Historical Society that Dr. Thomas founded. Very fine condition.Included with this lot are two printed articles regarding Dr. Thomas's contributions to aerospace and advanced learning. "The Aerospace Historical Society established an Academic Scholarship in 2010 in memory of its founder Dr. Shirley Thomas. The award is presented annually at the International von Kármán Wings Award banquet to a student in aerospace engineering or a related science that shows promise for continued future contributions to the field." (CalTech website).
