Description
Antique Winchester Model 1873 Lever Action Rifle Stamped Wayne Co.Serial no. 444989B [lower tang], .44 W.C.F. caliber, 24 1/4-inch barrel with fixed front sight and rear elevation sight. Blued and case-hardened finish. Dust cover. Smooth walnut straight stock and fore-end. Left side of stock stamped: WAYNE CO. Crescent metal buttplate with cleaning rod reservoir. Four piece metal cleaning rod. Manufactured in 1893.
Condition: Very good. Retaining traces of finish in protected areas, the balance a smooth grey patina with areas of handling wear and fine patches of pitting. Few scattered scuffs and dings present to wood. Crisp action. Strong bore. From the Collection of Oran B. Jolley.
