Description
Texas Ranger Co. F. Cinco Peso Ranger Badge.Polished silver, constructed from a Mexican 1947 or 1948 issue five peso coin which has been hammered slightly convex and voided to create the Texas "Lone Star" central motif. The badge is engraved on the obverse DEPT. OF PUBLIC SAFETY / CO. F. / TEXAS RANGERS, the letters highlighted with black paint and enhanced with additional floral accents. The reverse still retains traces of the die struck 5 peso coin and features a hinged pin and barrel catch for mounting. Reverse also marked STAF ENG / HOUSTON TEX.
Company F of the Texas Rangers was established in 1874 as part of the Frontier Battalion to protect settlers from raids and crime. Known for its role in high-profile manhunts and law enforcement operations, it played a key part in shaping order in Texas. Over the years, its Rangers have been involved in critical cases and civil disturbances, upholding justice across the state. Today, headquartered in Waco, Company F continues its legacy under the Texas Department of Public Safety, contributing to law enforcement and preserving Texas Ranger history.
