Description

U.S. Colt Model 1851 Navy Single Action Revolver.
Serial no. 66839 [barrel, frame, triggerguard, cylinder and butt], .36 caliber, 7 1/2-inch octagonal barrel with fixed front bead sight. Blued and case-hardened finish. Etched cylinder scene. Left side of frame marked: COLTS / PATENT / U.S. A stamped to cylinder, C behind triggerguard and K to top of gripstrap. Varnished walnut one-piece grip. Manufactured in 1857.

Condition: Very good. Retaining traces of finish, the balance a smooth grey patina with noticeable age, handling wear and patches of pitting. Scattered scuffs and dings to wood. Action good. Moderately pitted bore.
