Description
Engraved Remington Model 1890 Single Action Revolver.Serial no. 705 (under left grip), .44-40 caliber, 5 3/4-inch barrel with address reading: REMINGTON ARMS CO., ILION, N.Y. Nickel-plated finish. Left side of frame marked: 44 C.F.W. Barrel, cylinder and frame with extensive scroll-engraving on punch-dot background. Engraving ends at muzzle with an even border suggesting the gun was engraved after the barrel was cut. Smooth bone grips. The 2200 examples of this model were issued with 5 1/2-inch and 7 1/2-inch barrels. Lanyard swivel.
Condition: Fine as configured and custom-engraved. Barrel has been shortened. Retaining approximately 80-90% of the nickel-plating. Scattered light edge wear and peeling. Tool marks observed on triggerguard screw. Action good. Bore good.
