Description
The Hunters Companion Bowie Knife by George Wostenholm & Son.Overall length is 11-inches [out of scabbard]. 6 1/2-inch clip point blade marked I*XL on ricasso, also marked on blade G. WOSTENHOLM & SON / NONE ARE GENUINE BUT THOSE WASHINGTON WORKS / MARKED I*XL / THE REAL I*XL KNIFE [in banner]. THE HUNTERS COMPANION. Straight crossguard, flat pommel plate, bone handle. Contained in a black leather sheath stamped I*XL.
Condition: Very good as configured. Blade has been refinished, visual pitting underneath and sharpened. Scales fine with minor wear/marks. Scabbard stiff and with some warping; missing tip. Light toning present. Collection of a Southern Gentleman.
