Description
British Tower 1863 Dated Enfield Percussion Musket.Unserialized, .58 caliber, 39-inch barrel with fixed front sight and rear folding ladder sight. Blued finish. British proof marks to left side of barrel. Lock marked: (crown) and 1863 / TOWER. Smooth hardwood straight stock with sling swivels and three barrel bands. Brass triggerguard and buttplate. Initials IWC and EXXIII stippled to triggerguard and lower tang. Metal ramrod.
Condition: Very good. Finish primarily a smooth grey patina with scattered handling wear and fine patches of pitting. Dings and scuffs present to wood. Crisp action. Moderately pitted bore.
