Cased Colt 1860 Model Army Percussion Revolver with Factory Letter.

Serial no. 28859 [frame, triggerguard and butt] and 9341 [cylinder], .44 caliber, 8-inch barrel with fixed front sight. Blued and case-hardened finish. Top of barrel marked: ADDRESS COL. SAML COLT NEW YORK U.S. AMERICA. Four-screw frame. Left side of frame stamped: COLT'S / PATENT. Brass triggerguard. Smooth walnut one-piece grip. Manufactured in 1862. Sold along with factory letter dated February 26, 2007, confirms specifics listed above. Letter also states this revolver was sent to the United States Government, to the attention of Lieutenant Colonel George D. Ramsay of the Washington Arsenal. Ramsay was also Brigadier General Chief of Ordnance.

Condition: Good as configured. Finish primarily a bright grey patina with noticeable signs of age, handling wear and patches of pitting. Dings and scuffs present to wood, some loss to base. Action good. Moderately pitted bore.
No serial number present to base of barrel.
