Description

European Swept Hilt Rapier.

Approximately 46-inches overall with a 37 1/2-inch cruciform Damascus blade, minor single fuller present, with what appears to be an armorers mark near ricasso on one side of blade. Embossed style swept hilt with recurved quillons with Pas D' Ane, Anneau and branch. Wire-wrapped handle. Ovoid pommel with button also embossed. Handle possibly Victorian, blade added later. Note: Previously sold in a Little Johns Auction as lot 583, October 2012 [auction tag included].

Condition: Good as configured with age wear. Light wear and fading to Damascus blade. Showing a bright patina to hilt, cleaned at some point to bring out features. Traces of applied lacquer.
