Description
English Engraved Pepperbox Pistol.Unserialized, .36 caliber, 2 1/2-inch barrel cluster with nipple to the rear of each barrel. Proof mark to each barrel. Elaborately scroll engraved silver-plated frame and grip cap. Blued top-hammer and triggerguard also scroll engraved. Checkered hardwood one-piece grip. Blank oval escutcheon to top of wrist. Pepperboxes were mostly popular in the 1830's to 1860's. A pull of the trigger indexes the cluster and drops the hammer.
Condition: Very good. Barrels displaying noticeable handling wear and patches of pitting. Some scuffs present to wood. Action needs adjustment. Lightly pitted bores.
