Description
Benjamin F. Butler: V.F.A. Reception Committee Badge. 7 ¼" tall with an 1 ¼" celluloid button in a gilt frame captioned "Reception Committee". Paper label on the verso indicates the badge was manufactured by Sherman Manufacturing Company, Boston, Massachusetts. This circa 1900 badge postdates Butler's death in 1893 and was issued by the Volunteer Fireman's Association of Lowell, Massachusetts, Butler's home town.Auction Info
