Description

Colt Model 1878 Double-Action with 7½" Barrel, Marked "J. P. Lower ". According to the Colt factory letter (included), this gun, serial number 5304, was delivered to Hartley & Graham in New York in 1881. The Lower stamp suggests that at some point it was brought to the famous Denver gunsmith for repair or modification, at which time he added his stamp. The gun is in nice condition retaining about 75% of the original nickel finish. Lanyard ring. Action crisp and tight, bore very good to excellent. The embossed leather holster is unmarked and shows indications of substantial wear, but the gun belt is clearly even older. The holster fits the gun well and appears to be original. A fine Western rig.
