Description

Native American Adaptation of a Mid-Nineteenth Century Percussion Rifle. Very large bore, rifled. The barrel has clearly been cut down dramatically, presumably to make the weapon much easier to use on horseback. Original rawhide wraps with wonderful patina. Interesting old bone inlay as shown. There are many fakes in this genre, and it is refreshing to encounter an example which is authentic, original, and unmolested. Length 29".
