Description

Al Smith: Split Ticket Anti-Smith Slogan Button. Many Democrats in 1928 were dissatisfied with New Yorker Al Smith and were opposed to his anti-prohibition policies and religious affiliation. This 7/8" button with St. Louis Button Company back paper may have been worn by one of those Democrats who planned to vote Democratic on statewide offices, but not for the national ticket. It has some light stains and lamination irregularities, but may be the only example known.
