Description

Theodore Roosevelt: Stunning Welcome Button. When TR returned from his African trip in 1910, many souvenirs were issued to commemorate the event. While most of these were reflections of Roosevelt's enormous popularity, they also reflected a movement to see TR run again for President in 1912. This 1 1/4" button shows Uncle Sam greeting TR whose portrait appears on a golden sunrise above snow-capped mountains, a river, forest and settlement, emblematic of TR's efforts to preserve natural resources. It is in mint condition and has a Whitehead & Hoag back paper.
