Description

George McClellan: Back-to-Back Ferrotype Badge. 3/4" (20 mm.) campaign badge containing portraits of McClellan and Pendleton on either side, housed within a gilded brass frame with reeded edge and plain rim. This also comes in a larger size and was produced for all three candidates in the election of 1864. The McClellan portrait is very clear with some minor scratches and two inconsequential areas of emulsion loss on his uniform and right above his head. The Pendleton portrait is in similar condition. There is no bubbling or blistering of the emulsion which is perfectly flat.
