Description

James Monroe: Circa 1820 Canary Mug. The 2 1/2" height indicates this was a child's mug. Termed "canary luster", it was produced in England for export to America. This example has a brown transfer with eagle, floral elements and the word "Munroe". There are also similar pieces where the American President's name was spelled correctly, i.e., Monroe. Material for Monroe is the most difficult to source among our first six presidents. The condition is excellent.
