First edition, number 38 of 76 copies numbered and signed by Mitchell and Kernan on the limitation page. Folio. Eight gorgeous full-page lithographs (two-double-page) by Mitchell. Loose in publisher's handmade paper portfolio with blue title to front cover. Housed in the publisher's maroon cloth drop-down box with title label affixed to front cover. Some light soiling to box. Overall, a fine copy of a rare artist's book.From the colophon page: "Poems is a book of eight Joan Mitchell lithographs illuminating the poetry of Nathan Kernan, with title and colophon pages, paper folio and cloth-covered box. The edition is seventy-six books...All books are signed on the colophon page by the artist and poet with book numbering by the artist."
