Oblong quarto. Approximately 10.75 x 12.75 inches. [28] pages, rectos only. Contemporary half black morocco over blue cloth boards, front cover lettered in gilt (this book bound without title-page or any text). Front cover detached, spine chipped or torn, plates quite bright. Fair.

Edward B. Butler (American businessman and painter, 1853-1928) co-founded the Butler Brothers department stores in Boston.  He became a patron of the arts, and later a landscape painter and  was active in the art community (after he retired from business, he moved to Pasadena, CA and was the first president of the Pasadena Society of Artists).
