Christoph Ernst Prediger. Des in aller heut zu Tag ublichen Arbeit wohl anweisenden accuraten Buchbinder und Futteralmachers... Ansbach, Frankfurt and Leipzig, [n. d., 1741?]. Two octavo parts in one. [xvi], 266, [8, Register and Errata leaf] pages. With engraved frontispiece bound as [viii] plus twenty engraved plates (bound in no discernible order, with plate numbers 9 and 13 repeated). Section title as page 223, reckoned in the pagination. Contemporary calf with four raised bands. Moderate wear to the boards, with the rear joint split, and the spine coming loose as a result. Short split to front joint. Foxing and toning throughout. Light staining. Renewed fore-edge to plate one. Two large fore-edge chips to two leaves. Large fore-edge marginal chip to the second leaf of the Register. A good copy of the oldest German technical book on book binding.Auction Info
