[1942]. First edition, first issue in first issue dust jacket.
Inscribed by Hemingway on the front free endpaper: "To Bob
Spencer / from his friend / Ernest Hemingway". Octavo. [xxxii],
1,072 pages. Publisher's full black cloth, spine lettered in gilt.
Original printed dust jacket with $3.00 price, and with "First
Edition" on the front flap. Jacket spine lightly worn, a few short
creased tears to upper edge, some additional rubbing to jacket,
cloth spine and corners a bit rubbed, lettering on spine dull.
Still, a near fine copy, better than generally seen, with an
excellent inscription by Hemingway. Hanneman A19a.
