Description

Julia Ward Howe Autograph Letter Signed "Julia W. Howe." Two pages on 4.5" x 7" sheets, January 18, 1872. The American social reformer and author of "The Battle Hymn of the Republic", writes a cover letter accompanying a copy of the magazine, Woman's Journal. She writes, in part: "I suppose I need not tell you who wrote the unsigned editorial "Better education for Women'. Perhaps you will do me the honor to quote from this." Toned, with a small portion of the upper right corner of the second sheet lacking, and with the usual fold creases, else fine.
