Description

Early Engraving of the Alamo Featured in Graham's Magazine and Identified by Alexander Dienst. Four pages of an article entitled, "Scenes in Texas," 6" x 10", n.d., featuring an early engraving of "San Antonio de Bexar, with the Alamo, Where the Lamented Crockett Fell." Above the engraving, Alexander Dienst (1870-1938), a Texas historian, has written in pencil, "Circa 1837-1847 Graham's Magazine. This is practically unknown and has never been represented to my knowledge." Includes Dienst's signature, as well as annotations throughout. Toned with some stains and foxing.
