Description

Abraham Clark Autograph Document Signed "Abra: Clark." Two pages, 7.75" x 7.5", n. p., April 23, 1771. Declaration of Independence signer Abraham Clark was serving as High Sheriff of Essex County when he penned this document concerning a "Controversie between Isaac Freeman & Robert Moore Jun." involving "Property of Certain Goods." An additional testimony on the verso reveals that Abraham Clark and another man were "Chose as Arbitrators by the Parties to Settle the [matter]." The document is lightly toned with some paper loss at the intersections of the smoothed folds. Ink bleedthrough is evident on both sides.
