Description

French Model 1890 Berthier Bolt Action Mousqueton. Serial no. 73066 (all component numbers matching), 8mm caliber, 17 ½-inch barrel with fixed front and leaf rear sights. Blued. St. Etienne arsenal marks on left side of receiver; barrel dated 1891. Hardwood stock with two barrel bands, stacking hook, one side-mounted ring and sling swivel mounted under the butt; metal buttplate. These carbines were used by cavalry units in French Morocco, Tunisia and Algeria and also in WWI.

Condition: Very good. Retaining approximately 65-75% finish with some light scattered areas of surface rust and thinning at the high spots. Stock with surface scratches, some bruising and scuffs. Mechanically crisp with a bright bore.
