Description

U.S. Springfield Model 1879 Trapdoor Rifle. Serial no. 104618, .45-70 caliber, 32 ½-inch round barrel with blade front and adjustable rear sight. Blue finish with casehardened breech. Walnut stock with two barrel bands, two sling swivels and one stacking swivel. Condition: Very good. Retaining approximately 90% finish. Light pin-prick pitting to metal. Stock lightly sanded obscuring the inspector's cartouche. Butt plate rusted. Bright bore. Crisp action. From the Michael Yeck Collection.
