Description

U.S. Springfield Model 1863 Rifled Musket. NVSN, .58 caliber, 40-inch round barrel with fixed front sight and folding rear sight. Lock and barrel dated 1863. N.J. and V / P / eagles head proofs on barrel. Walnut stock with W.T.T. and E.S.A. cartouches to left side of stock. Carbine butt marked: US. Three barrel bands extant. Ramrod. Swivel sling mounts.
Condition: Good. Finish primarily a brown age patina with handling wear and scattered patches of pitting. Stock showing scuffs, dents and bruises. Action is good. Bright bore. From the Michael Yeck Collection.
