Description
Paul Revere Vignetted Treasury Certificate. Partly-printed document, Massachusetts Bay, July 15, 1779. Six percent interest note to be paid by January 1, 1780, for Seventy Five Pounds. Pine tree and rattlesnake vignette art by Paul Revere, signed by "Stephen Minot" and "J. Mascarene" (committee) and "H. Gardner" as Treasurer (with ink cancellation marks over his signature). Right hand border reads: "Advance Pay to Officers, second Moiety." Unevenly trimmed, else fine.Auction Info
