Nicholas Biddle Autograph Letter Regarding a Land Purchase Autograph Letter Signed, 2 pages, recto and verso, Philadelphia, May 8, 1817. To Vincent Le Ray de Chaumont. In fine condition. Here Biddle, who would soon enough become president of the Bank of the United States, discusses the purchase of some land near Tioga. "I had this morning the pleasure of receiving... the outline of your negotiation & your plans with regard to the land, in all which - if in other respects the purchase is a desirable one - I do not perceive any difficulties..." He continues that he wishes to visit the land himself - but has missed the stagecoach, thought to travel by private carriage, decided against it, will wait until the next stage, etceteras - and shall soon be on the road to Tioga. Accompanied by LOA from PSA/DNA.
