Six Charles Magnus Civil War Songsheets During the Civil War, prolific New York publisher Charles Magnus sold inexpensive patriotic letterheads and songsheets that were wildly popular among the Northern masses. The sheets offered here are each one page, 5" x 8", and are illustrated with attractive color lithographs above the lyrics to martial songs. The various titles include, "The Wife I Left Behind Me", "On, On, On, The Boys Came Marching!", "Our Ulysses", McClellan's Farewell", "Give Us Back Our Old Commander", and "The Banner of the Free". Notables shown are Generals George McClellan, Winfield Scott, and Judson Kilpatrick. Overall very fine condition.Auction Info
