Very Rare 1868 Seymour-Blair Oval Ferrotype Badge
Oval Seymour-Blair ferrotype jugate badge, 22mm x 16mm. Conjoined ferrotype portraits of Seymour & Blair within a beaded brass frame with brooch-style attachment on verso. This has to be one of the better Seymour-Blair jugates. There is a very fine diagonal scratch that runs across Blair's beard (mentioned for accuracy only); otherwise, this piece is a knockout. The portraits are clear, bold and resonant. We can recall perhaps one other auction appearance in the last thirty years. Worthy of the finest collection.Auction Info
