Description

US M1833 Foot Artillery Sword, Dated 1834. Classic regulation pattern with markings, "N. P. Ames/ Springfield" surmounted by eagle on the obverse, and "United States/ 1834" on the reverse. Also bears the "S. Huse/ Newburyport" mark and oval H. K. C. inspector's cartouche on the underside of the hilt. Blade generally smooth and gray with just some scattered salt and peppering and the tip with a small chip. Brass hilt perfect with nice untouched patina. There is no scabbard. Very nice example and especially desirable with this early date.
