6-1/2" x 9-1/8" leaf, 15-1/2" x 18-5/8" frame.
Single illuminated recto page of a single folio from a 13th century French Psalter in Latin. Psalm 118 "Confitemini Domino quoniam bonus...". The initial "C" is is decorated with the head of a man sprouting from a blue tendril on a gold leaf ground with blue, pink and white detailing. The rubrics are in blue or gold, with blue or red tracery, and more decoration in blue, red and gold ink at the end of each line of text. Gothic script, black ink, the parchment is in good condition. Framed.
