[Sporting Books]. The Denver Athletic Club Book. Denver: The Carson-Harper Co., 1898. First edition. Folio. 144 pages. Numerous photographs and illustrations throughout. Bound in black and red leather, upper board with gilt on black title and black triangle on red field. Binding rubbed, scuffed and scratched, spine leather worn away, small tears at head and foot. Pencil gift inscription on front pastedown: "Mr. J.G. Shiel/ compliments of Arthur Williams/ Feby 6 - 1916...". Small bookseller's pencil note on front free endpaper. Small spot on title page. Three-and-a-half inch tear along inner margin of pages 71 and 72 with cellophane tape repair. Very good.Auction Info
