Publisher's beige cloth with brown stamped spine; with original illustrated dust jacket printed on light pink paper. Minor edgewear; spine slightly rubbed. Illustrated endpapers. Internally generally clean; top-edge stained brown; minor edgewear. Dust jacket with some edgewear; chipping in head and foot of spine panel, spine sunned; toned, a little rubbed overall; spine panel reinforced on verso. Very good book with good dust jacket. Ironically, this well-known detective and crime fiction publisher, Claude Kendall, was murdered in 1937 and the mystery remains unsolved.Auction Info
