Publisher's pictorial bright red cloth stamped in black; original illustrated dust jacket designed by Edd Cartier. Corners bumped, somewhat cocked, head and foot of spine just pushed. Cream endpapers; minor offsetting, small penciled bookseller's notation and damage from removed bookplate to front free endpaper recto. Internally clean and tight; minor text block edgewear. Dust jacket unclipped ($2.50); minor edgewear, very minor chipping and creasing to corners. A near fine book with an especially bright and near fine dust jacket."Nine 'positronic' robot stories, originally published 1940-1950, with new material added for continuity." I, Robot is presented as a fictional history of robotics in the U.S., told through the lens of a scientist explaining each story to a reporter; it marks the first appearance of Asimov's famous "Three Laws of Robotics."
