First edition. Octavo. 195 x 140 mm. [6], 289, [1, blank] pages. Publisher's orange cloth stamped in blue-gray, in the original illustrated dust jacket. Some wear to extremities with a few small indentations to board edges, corners slightly bumped and rubbed, minor abrasions to cloth, spine sunned, head and tail pushed with some fraying. Text block edges toned, fore-edge and bottom edge untrimmed, ownership stamp of Barton Currie to front pastedown with erased bookseller notations, pencil notation to rear free endleaf verso. Pages generally toned throughout, intermittent foxing to margins. Dust jacket decoratively clipped and priced "$2.00"; crinkling along edges affecting text on front panel, some soiling and scattered foxing, loss and rubbing to head and tail touching publisher by-line; rubbing to rear panel effacing portions of final two named titles, with some paper repair along bottom edge. Publisher's bright green cloth stamped in blue to the spine, in the original illustrated dust jacket. Moderate edgewear, some scuffing to boards, spine sunned and somewhat mottled, head and tail pushed, lower board slightly bowed, dirt-stained along edges. Text block edges toned and foxed, top edge dusted, binding somewhat cocked, pencil notations to endleaves, intermittent thumbing. Dust jacket unclipped, priced "7s 6d net"; soiling all-over and foxed, faint coffee-stain to rear flap, heavily restored and repaired, with paper repairs and reinforcement to verso, some loss to spine, inked over, particularly at head; spine sunned, crinkling along edges. Very good book in good dust jacket.
