Description
Sixth Plate Ambrotype of Confederate with Rare Colt Baby Dragoon. Posed for the camera is a young Southerner proudly displaying in one hand a small, spearpoint knife and in the other a scarce Colt Model 1848 Baby Dragoon pistol with three inch barrel, a rare weapon even more rarely depicted in photographs. The subject is shown seated with one arm braced on a table beside him and wearing a nondescript jacket having seven brass buttons tinted gold. The image is clear although contrast is low. It is housed in its original case with detached cover. A nice image of a rare weapon.Auction Info
