Description
Very Fine Example of the Rare Civil War Bacon .32 Caliber Rimfire, Six Shot Swingout Cylinder Revolver. Serial number 102 under the barrel, on cylinder, trigger and beneath the grip where the secondary number 229 also appears, with total production estimated at several hundred. Marked "Bacon Mf'g Co. Norwich, Conn." on top of the barrel and "C. W. Hopkins Patented May 27, 1862" on the side. Gun retains approximately 50% of the original bright blue with some case colors on the hammer. The balance of the gun smooth and clean. Markings and scroll engraved frame crisp, mechanically perfect, excellent bore. Grips with some minor wear at the high points but retaining 90% of the original varnish. Very nice example of this rare Civil War handgun.Auction Info
