Description
United States Naval Officers' Sword Named to an Officer Killed in Action About the Submarine USS Trigger (SS-237). An attractive sword marked "Made USA" on the blade with the "Proved" mark in a circle below. The bright blade is etched with nautical symbols and floral designs. The blade is etched with the officer's name "John W. Sincavich". Sincavich was killed on March 28, 1945 while serving as an officer aboard the submarine Trigger. The handle and grip are complete and the sword itself is in excellent condition. The leather portion of the scabbard has slightly come apart at the seam otherwise it is complete and even the brass throat of the scabbard also bears Sincavich's "JWS" initials. This is a excellent sword associated with a great association.Auction Info
